Introduction

Raptor Browser Extension (“we”, “our”, or “the Extension”) is a data collection and analysis tool that helps users aggregate and analyze vehicle listings from multiple automotive marketplaces. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information.

What Data We Collect

1. User Authentication Data

When you authenticate with the Extension, we collect:

  • User ID (unique identifier from Google/Microsoft OAuth)

Important: We do NOT collect or store your email address, name, profile picture, or OAuth tokens. We only use OAuth to obtain your User ID for identifying your collected listings.

2. Vehicle Listing Data

When you use the Extension on supported automotive websites, we collect:

  • Vehicle specifications: Make, model, year, mileage, price, fuel type, color, and other vehicle characteristics
  • Listing metadata: URL to the original listing, timestamp of collection, website source
  • Page content: HTML or JSON data from the listing pages

We do NOT collect:

  • ❌ Seller personal information (names, phone numbers, addresses)
  • ❌ Vehicle images or photos
  • ❌ Payment or financial information
  • ❌ Browsing history outside of supported automotive websites
  • ❌ Personal messages or communications

3. Technical Data

  • Session statistics: Number of listings collected, data volume, timestamps
  • Site information: Which automotive marketplace was accessed
  • Extension settings: User preferences for data collection modes

Supported Websites

The Extension only collects data from these automotive marketplaces:

  • mobile.de (Germany)
  • autouncle.* (Multiple countries)
  • mobile.bg (Bulgaria)
  • autoscout24.ch (Switzerland)
  • car.gr (Greece)

How We Use Your Data

Primary Purpose: Vehicle Market Analysis

Your collected data is used to:

  1. Aggregate Vehicle Listings: Combine listings from multiple sources into one searchable database
  2. Price Analysis: Calculate average prices, market trends, and recommended prices
  3. Deal Discovery: Identify potentially advantageous deals based on market analysis
  4. Personal History: Allow you to review listings you’ve viewed (optional feature)

Data Sharing Model

  • Public Pool: All collected vehicle listing data is aggregated into a shared database
  • All users can view: Any user can search and analyze all collected listings from all users
  • Optional Personal Filter: You can choose to view only your own collected listings
  • Analysis Scope: Price recommendations and statistics are calculated across ALL collected data

We do NOT:

  • ❌ Sell your data to third parties
  • ❌ Use data for advertising purposes
  • ❌ Share personal information (email, name) with other users
  • ❌ Track your browsing outside supported automotive websites

How We Store Your Data

Data Retention Policy

1. Raw Data (HTML/JSON)

  • Stored in AWS S3 (encrypted at rest)
  • Retention period: 24 hours
  • Automatically deleted after processing

2. Processed Data (Parquet format)

  • Stored in AWS S3 (encrypted at rest)
  • Retention period: Up to 6 months
  • Used for analysis and price recommendations

3. User Identification Data

  • User ID stored in AWS to associate listings with users
  • No sensitive personal data stored in AWS
  • Retained until you request data deletion

Data Security Measures

  • Encryption at rest: All data in AWS S3 is encrypted
  • HTTPS only: All communication uses secure HTTPS protocol
  • OAuth authentication: Secure authentication via Google/Microsoft
  • API key protection: Secure API keys for AWS Lambda communication
  • Rate limiting: Protection against data abuse

User Rights & Data Control

Your Rights (GDPR Compliant)

You have the right to:

  1. Access: Request a copy of your collected data
  2. Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information and collected listings
  3. Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
  4. Data Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format
  5. Opt-out: Stop data collection at any time by disabling or uninstalling the Extension

Data Deletion

When you uninstall the Extension:

  • ✅ Local extension settings are removed from Chrome storage
  • ✅ No personal data remains on your device
  • ⚠️ Your User ID and collected vehicle listings remain in our database

Note: Since we only store your User ID (not email, name, or other personal data), your listings are effectively pseudonymized. To request complete data deletion including collected listings, please contact us.

We do NOT use:

  • ❌ Advertising networks
  • ❌ Social media tracking pixels
  • ❌ Any other tracking or telemetry services

Cookies and Local Storage

The Extension uses:

  • Chrome Local Storage: To store extension settings and preferences only (extraction mode, enabled domains, etc.)
  • No Personal Data: We do NOT store authentication tokens, passwords, or personal information locally
  • No Cookies: We do not use HTTP cookies for tracking

Note: Authentication is handled entirely through Google/Microsoft OAuth. After authentication, we only retain your User ID to associate your collected listings.

Children’s Privacy

The Extension is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

International Data Transfers

While the Extension is available globally, our primary focus is the European automotive market. Your data is:

  • Processed in AWS data centers in eu-central-1 (Frankfurt, Germany)
  • Subject to EU data protection laws (GDPR)
  • Stored within the European Union for compliance with data residency requirements

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

  • Updating the “Last Updated” date
  • Displaying a notification in the Extension
  • Sending an email notification (if applicable)

Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data based on:

  1. Consent: You provide explicit consent when installing and using the Extension
  2. Legitimate Interest: Data analysis for market insights benefits all users
